Tuesday, March 26, 2024, was the first day of the JROTC's annual Washington DC Trip. On the way to DC, they scheduled a stop at Fort Frederick, Maryland, a French and Indian War Fort and the site of Maryland's first African American school. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Fort establishment of history programs. The Park Rangers opened up the Park early this year to welcome the JROTC group and to give them a private viewing of the Fort. Thus, they are the first group to visit the Fort this year.
