Contest

All scholars are eligible to enter the YCSD "Unity in the City" All City Concert Logo Contest! Design an original logo representing the theme "Unity in the City," reflecting how music brings diverse communities together to create harmony and a sense of belonging for everyone. Scholars can enter alone or up to group of three by 5:00 p.m. on March 19, 2024. For contest criteria, please see below. Eligibility:

- Open to all students currently enrolled in YCSD

- Participants can submit individually or as a team of up to three members.

Design Requirements:

- Originality: Entries must be original, unpublished work created by the participant(s). AI generated art is not eligible for this contest.

- Theme Interpretation: The design should clearly represent the theme of unity within an urban context.

- Visual Elements: Consider incorporating elements that symbolize the city’s architecture, cultural diversity, music, and/or community bonds.

- Color Scheme: Use YCSD colors. 

- Scalability: The logo should be easily recognizable and scalable for various uses, from small sizes (e.g., business cards, website icons) to larger formats (e.g., posters, banners).

Submission Format:

- File Format: Submit your logo design in .JPG, .PNG, or .PDF format.

- Resolution: Minimum 300 dpi.

- Dimensions: 1024x1024 pixels for square designs. If the design is not square, please adjust while ensuring the longest side is at least 1024 pixels.

- File Size: Not exceeding 4 MB.

- Naming Convention: “FirstName_LastName_UnityLogo”

How to Submit:

- Upload your design here or email to STEAM.CMS@youngstown.k12.oh.us with the Naming Convention as the file name.

- Include with your submission:

  - Your full name, grade, school, and contact information.

  - A brief description (100-200 words) of your design and how it represents the theme of unity within the city.

Judging Criteria:

- Relevance: How well the design represents the theme of unity in the district and/or city.

- Creativity and Originality: The uniqueness of the concept and creative approach to the theme.

- Visual Impact: The overall aesthetic appeal, composition, and color usage.

- Adaptability: How well the design works across different mediums and scales.

Prizes:

- 1st Place: Logo for the 2024 All City Concert T-Shirt design, Concert Program, and Certificate 

- 2nd Place: All City Concert Program and Certificate 

- 3rd Place: All City Concert Program and Certificate 

- Winners will also have their designs featured on YCSD website

Extended Deadline:

- All submissions must be received by 3/19/24, 5pm EST

Terms and Conditions:

- By submitting an entry, participants agree to grant YCSD the right to use, modify, and display the designs for promotional or other purposes

- The decision of the judging panel will be final and binding in all matters related to this contest
