East High School senior Alaina Rivera was recently recognized as a 2025 Bright Futures Honoree during the 31st Annual Young Women With Bright Futures Awards Program, hosted by the YWCA Mahoning Valley. The event took place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, where Alaina was awarded a $500 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding potential and achievements.
Alaina was nominated by Mr. Kevin Parkin, East High School counselor, who praised her for her strong academic performance and creative talents. He noted that her intellect and artistic ability complement each other, often shining through in her classroom work.
Mrs. Burchfield, East High’s assistant principal, joined Mr. Parkin and Alaina’s mother, Michelle Rivera, at the awards ceremony to celebrate this well-deserved honor. Alaina’s recognition is a testament to her dedication, creativity, and bright future ahead.
