On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the East High School Golden Bears JROTC Battalion hosted and competed in the 4th Annual East High School JROTC Drill and Ceremony Competition. The event featured multiple competitive categories, including Varsity and LET 1 Color Guard, Varsity and LET 1 Platoon Unarmed Drill, Varsity and LET 1 Squad Armed Drill, Raider Challenge, Academic Challenge, and the Individual Knockout event.
The Golden Bears Battalion delivered an exceptional performance, earning 1st Place overall in the competition. The team also secured 1st Place finishes in Varsity Color Guard, Varsity and LET 1 Platoon Unarmed Drill, Varsity and Platoon Squad Armed Drill, and the Raider Challenge, along with a 2nd Place finish in LET 1 Color Guard.
One of the most remarkable highlights of the day came in the Individual Knockout event, which featured over 120 Cadets competing for top honors. East High's Cadets dominated the competition, sweeping the top 10 spots. The Top 3 finishers were:
1st Place: Abigail Hartley
2nd Place: Luis Vazquez
3rd Place: Annelisse (Elliot) Claudio Nieves
